WHO and WHAT
S and K Expeditions is owned an operated by Stef and Ken. They have a passion for the outdoors and serving up premium adventures, no matter the location or craft. They reside in Golden, B.C. and guide all over Canada.
Stef McArdle
Stef is an International guide, instructor and photographer, specializing in whitewater rafting, kayaking and canoeing on day and multi-day adventures. She has years of experience in Costa Rica, U.S.A. and Nepal, and works in many remote parts of Canada during the summer. Stef is an instructor trainer in whitewater canoe and kayak (through Paddle Canada) and was the Head Instructor at the Madawaska Kanu Centre. She now has a winter life in the snow, working as a full time ski patroller with the Mountain Safety team at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. She loves backcountry ski adventures and is an active member of the Canadian Avalanche Association. She is a certified whitewater rescue instructor with Boreal River Rescue and is a wilderness first responder. She’s also an amazing backcountry chef, and loves to provide healthy meals, specializing in unique vegetarian dishes, interesting appetizers and delicious baked goods. She is fluent in both French and Spanish.
Ken MacDiarmid
Ken has been guiding wilderness expeditions all over Canada for 15 years. He has travelled extensively, from adventuring in the mountains of Kashmir to living with the locals high in the Ecuadorian Andes. He is a certified Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) ski guide and in the winter guides at many different locations around B.C., including Golden Alpine Holidays, Purcell Lodge, Bella Coola Heli Skiing, the Fairy Meadows hut and Great Canadian Heli-Skiing. In the summer, Ken works with Black Feather - the Wilderness Adventure Company, guiding whitewater canoe and Arctic expeditions. He is a certified Paddle Canada moving water canoe instructor and is a swift water rescue technician and a wilderness first responder. Ken loves epic backcountry ski trips with basecamps and traverses, and remote expeditions all over the Canadian North. Ken consistently receives accolades from his guests on his organization, trip planning, attention to and focus on safety, as well as his backcountry cooking skills. He is fluent in both French and Spanish.
